DISTINCTIVE is a multi-disciplinary collaboration of 10 universities and 3 key industry partners from across the UK’s civil nuclear sector.
On Tuesday 29th April, over 45 individuals from academia and industry assembled in Leeds to kick-start the DISTINCTIVE research programme.
Prof. Simon Biggs helps investigate the best way to dispose of the waste produced by the generation of nuclear power.
The Decommissioning, Immobilisation and Storage solutIons for NuClear wasTe InVEntories (DISTINCTIVE) programme started on 10th February.
A multi-million pound four-year research programme will combine the expertise of the nuclear industry with 10 universities to focus on some of the key challenges of the UK’s nuclear legacy and help build the next generation of nuclear experts.
